Star Wars: Uprising

Kabam | Art Director | Unity | iOS, Android

Star Wars: Uprising was a multiplayer mobile RPG set within the Star Wars universe, focused on exploration, combat, and cooperative play across a wide range of environments inspired by the franchise’s lived-in sci-fi aesthetic.

As Art Director, I guided the visual development of the game from early concept through final production assets with a particular focus on environments, worldbuilding, and level composition. In addition to establishing the overall artistic direction, I contributed directly to visual development and production art including modeling, layout, lighting, and environmental storytelling across the game experience.

Working closely with tools and rendering engineers, I also helped establish core elements of the environment art pipeline including workflows, tool specifications, asset metrics, and optimization strategies to support efficient production and strong visual performance across mobile hardware.

Style Guide Samples

Uprising was not the first Star Wars game that I worked on though it was the first for mobile platforms. The primary difference being the small screen and challenging lighting conditions in which mobile games are usually played. We set out to create proportions in characters that would read well on a mobile screen as well as textures and lighting that were low in noise and high frequency detail. Additionally lighting contrast was minimized for readability. On top of it all, we we crafted a game that was true to the franchise and extended the lore. Throughout production we met and presented style and content regularly with Lucasfilm for signoff and cohesiveness to the IP.
